In your view of the concept of culture, which elements are essential or veryimportant? Why?

There are many things that compose culture. Some things are visible and some are abstract. As far as I am concerned, the essential elements are beliefs, assumptions and mental models. That is the core power of a great nation.

 

What is the significance of diversity of world culture?

First, it can maintain the creativity of each nation. Although there are different kinds of cultures in the world, each must try its best to improve itself and create new shining points. Second, it can promote the sustainable development of human beings.  When facing some problems, human beings will have various solutions because of different cultures and values. That is beneficial for the development of people.

 

What is culture shock?

Culture shock is a condition that affects people who travel to a country different from their own. The term describes a traveler's feelings of bewilderment when the environment and culture change from the one that he or she is familiar with. The unfamiliar surroundings, foreign language and strange habits of a new country can all contribute to a feeling of uneasiness and confusion.
It is not only those who who travel and live abroad who get Culture shock. Any change in surroundings can bring about these feelings. If a person leaves home for the first time and goes to college, for example, then the new environment and new experiences may be a shock to the system.

 

What causes the failure of cross-culture communication?

A primary barrier to cross-cultural communication, also referred to as intercultural communication, is a lack of a predominating, universal language and culture. Therefore, the acquisition of knowledge is the chief recommendation for building a progressively more lucid understanding of those from other cultures. This may include acquiring second or third languages in an effort to stand on more equal footing with those from other cultures. Gaining knowledge of other cultures and traditions can also aid in understanding the complex and unique web of influences that shaped each culture's citizens.
