What is the structure of the passage?

Answer:

The whole passage can be divided into two parts.

1.Part I: Diogenes (paras. 1-10)

1)(paras. 1-3) his lifestyle

2)(paras. 4-10) his doctrine and his ways of preaching it.

2.Part II: Diogenes’ meeting with Alexander (paras. 11-17)

1)(paras. 11) Alexander’s presence in Corinth.

2)(paras. 12-13) his motivation for meeting Diogenes

3)(paras. 1-3) his brief exchange with Diogenes

学习目标

By the end of the class, students will be able to

1.Understand the structure and the general ideas of the passage;

2.Know something about the author;

3.Solve your own questions about the passage;
